Put the board where people already pause — the entrance lobby, the hall outside meeting rooms — and shape it around that glance. A weekly program reads well as one row per event with columns for day, time, room, and title; six to ten rows covers most centers. Fork a community template and size the grid so the oldest eyes in your congregation or membership can read it from a few meters, which usually means fewer rows and larger cells than you first think.

Plan for many hands. Boards are edited as plain text fields, so the volunteer coordinator, the librarian, and the office administrator can each update their sections without training or code — a change typed into the dashboard flips onto the screen in real time. For notices that must move faster than a person, such as weather closures or room changes, a live data widget pointed at a JSON feed flips updates in within a second; live sources are part of the Business plan.

Let scenes do the rotating so nobody has to. A practical loop gives the weekly program 40 seconds, announcements 20, and service or opening hours 15 — each duration set per scene, running unattended through the day and the weekend. Seasonal content earns its own scene you simply add and later remove: a volunteer-drive scene in spring, a holiday-schedule scene in December. One dashboard runs every screen in the building, so the annex hall shows the same corrected time as the lobby.
