PUBLIC LIBRARY EVENTS BOARD

A public library events board that flips the next program time from today's schedule, pulls upcoming public holidays from a live API feed, and cycles hours and visitor reminders in a ticker. Sized at 11x42 for a lobby TV near the front desk, it covers programs, closures, and holds pickup in one glance.

QUESTIONS
Where does the holiday information come from?

The holidays row is a repeater widget already pointed at a free public-holidays JSON API, listing each date and name. Live API feeds refresh on the Business plan; on other plans the row shows its editable sample text instead.

How do we enter our own program times and hours?

The "program" widget holds a list of today's session times and flips to the next one automatically; edit that list per day or week. The hours ticker is a plain editable list — change it for holiday hours or quiet-floor notices in seconds.

Our lobby screen is smaller — will 11x42 fit?

The 11-row, 42-column grid targets a large landscape TV, but you can reduce rows and columns in board settings and the flaps rescale to fit. Trim a row or shorten the ticker text and the layout still reads from across the lobby.

What does this cost a public library to run?

Designing and configuring the board is free. Playing it live on the lobby TV starts at $8/mo, and the live holiday feed requires the Business plan. It runs on any TV or stick that opens a URL, so there is no signage hardware to procure.
