SPLIT-FLAP DISPLAYS FOR GYMS & FITNESS STUDIOS

Run the floor on a board that flips class schedules, interval timers, and leaderboards in bold split-flap type. Gyms and fitness studios open flaps.tv in a browser on any wall-mounted TV — fork a schedule template, customize the look, and update the next class or top score in real time.

06 TEMPLATES
Gym Class Schedule Board

A gym class schedule board that counts down to the next class, rotates the coaching lineup, and flips floor notes on a studio TV. The next-class widget cycles through five daily sessions from the 6am opener to the 6:45pm evening slot, coach names rotate beneath, and an orange floor ticker nudges members to reset rowers and chase PRs.

YouTube Live Watch Board

A live-studio board with a next-show countdown cycling 9am, 1pm, and 6pm slots, a red 12.8k live-viewer counter, and a lower-third ticker rotating subscribe prompts, Q&A cues, and sponsor mentions. Streamers frame it in the background of the shot or mount it in the control room as an on-air status wall the whole crew can read at a glance.

Social Follower Milestone Board

A creator milestone board pairing a 48.2k follower counter with a goal progress bar sitting at 96%, above a thank-you ticker plugging Friday's video and the next stream. Creators put it behind them on camera or on the studio wall so the community watches the counter close in on the goal. The number, the goal bar, and every message edit in the fork.

Pickup Basketball Scoreboard

A pickup basketball scoreboard with big flip counters for home (18) and away (16), a running game clock, and a ticker holding court rules — winner stays, next up red team, first to 21. Gyms, rec centers, and office courts run it on a wall TV so nobody argues the score. Update the numbers from a laptop or phone and the wall display flips over.

Yoga Studio Board

A yoga studio board that shows the next flow, the room temperature, and soft rotating studio notes on an entryway screen. A next-class widget counts down through the 7am, 9:30, 12:15, and 6pm sessions, an 82°F room-temp counter warns hot-flow arrivals, and a ticker flips through mat rentals and post-class tea, above a shoes-off reminder.

Spa Availability Board

A spa availability board that shows the next open appointment slot, local weather, and a rotating list of today's treatments on a lobby screen. A next-opening widget cycles through slots like 10:15 and 14:30, Palm Springs weather sits alongside, and a quiet ticker flips through deep tissue, facials, and sauna hours. Walk-ins see exactly when they can be seen.

Gym screens that coach the room

Members mid-set read exactly one thing: the clock. Build the timer scene around a countdown widget with digits sized to your studio's depth — three or four oversized rows beat a busy layout — and keep a slim line beneath for the current block, 'EMOM 12' or 'REST 0:90'. The flip on every second gives the whole floor a shared cadence, and the board runs in the browser of the TV already mounted on the wall, no timer hardware to rack.

Off the floor, the board sells classes. A lobby scene fed from your booking system's JSON feed shows today's timetable with coach names and spots-left counts flipping to FULL as members reserve — the front desk stops retyping the schedule, and the scarcity does its own marketing. Live feeds are a Business-plan feature. WOD scores flow in from a scoring app the same way, or a coach types results between heats and the leaderboard flips instantly.

Scenes match the board to the hour: schedule between classes, timer during work, leaderboard through the cooldown, each with its own duration and switchable from a coach's phone. A multi-room studio forks a board per room — spin gets its own colors and playlist countdown, the strength floor its own WOD — all managed from one dashboard. Building is free; running a screen live starts at $8/mo, so the whole setup costs less than one drop-in.

WHAT TO KNOW
Can we run a workout timer big enough to read across the studio?

Yes — size the split-flap digits to fill any TV, so members read the interval clock from across the room with no extra timer hardware.

Will the leaderboard update from our class or scoring app?

If that app offers JSON or an API, flaps.tv pulls scores and flips the standings live; otherwise a coach can enter results from their phone.

Can the schedule board change between studios for different class types?

Fork the template per studio and customize each board's classes and colors, while all of them run from a browser on the screens you already mounted.

What does a studio display cost to run?

Free to build, so the timer and schedule can be designed before opening the wallet. Going live starts at $8/mo for one screen; Pro at $29/mo covers five displays, enough for most multi-room studios, with booking-feed integration on Business.

Can the screen switch from schedule to timer when class starts?

Yes. Set the schedule, timer, and leaderboard as separate scenes and rotate them on durations, or have the coach push a scene change from a phone mid-session. The TV itself never gets touched during class.
