TRAIN DEPARTURE BOARD

A classic split-flap train departure board listing morning services to New Haven, Grand Central, Stamford, and Bridgeport with time, destination, and track columns. A next-train widget counts down to the 08:15 and rolls through five departures in sequence. Hang it in a station cafe, a model railway room, or a transit-themed office for the authentic Solari atmosphere.

QUESTIONS
Can I change the destinations and track numbers?

Yes. Fork the template and retype any row — swap New Haven and Stamford for your own stations, edit the time and track columns directly, and update the five departure times inside the next-train widget so the countdown matches your actual timetable.

Can the board show real train departures from an API?

On the Business plan, point a data widget at any JSON feed — many transit agencies publish live departure APIs — and rows flip to new times in under a second. Without a live source, the board plays whatever timetable you type in.

What do I need to run this on a wall-mounted TV?

Any screen with a browser: Chromecast, Fire TV, Apple TV, a smart TV, or a laptop on HDMI. There is no hardware to buy and no code to write — open the board's URL and the flaps render at 60 FPS.

The 44-column layout is wider than my screen — can I shrink it?

Yes. Rows and columns are editable after forking. The 12x44 default suits large TVs; trimming to around 32 columns keeps the time-destination-track table readable on smaller screens, and each flap grows larger as the grid gets smaller.
