PICKUP BASKETBALL SCOREBOARD

A pickup basketball scoreboard with big flip counters for home (18) and away (16), a running game clock, and a ticker holding court rules — winner stays, next up red team, first to 21. Gyms, rec centers, and office courts run it on a wall TV so nobody argues the score. Update the numbers from a laptop or phone and the wall display flips over.

QUESTIONS
How do we keep score during a game?

A scorekeeper edits the home and away number widgets from any phone or laptop in the dashboard, and the wall TV flips to the new totals. Rename the counters for team colors, and reset the countdown-based game clock between runs.

Can an old gym TV run this scoreboard?

Yes — any screen that opens a browser works, and a $30 streaming stick upgrades an older set. There is no scoreboard controller, cabling, or app: the split-flap animation renders in the TV browser at 60 FPS.

What does it cost for a rec center or office court?

Setting up and previewing the board costs nothing, so you can trial it during one open-gym night. Keeping it live on the court TV starts at $8/mo — far below any physical scoreboard, with no bulbs or remotes to lose.

Can I make the score digits bigger for a large gym?

Yes. Reduce the column count after forking — the default 36 columns leaves room for the rules ticker, but cutting toward 24 makes every flap, including the two score counters, dramatically larger for full-court visibility.
