MARATHON RACE PROGRESS BOARD
A race progress board cycling leader bibs 2041, 118, and 742, a mile-20 progress bar at 76% of the course, live Boston weather, and a finish-area ticker covering the chute, mile-22 water, and the med tent. Race expos, cheer stations, and run clubs use it to give spectators a live sense of where the field is between sightings.

Can leader bibs and course position come from our timing system?
If your timing provider publishes results as JSON — most chip-timing platforms offer an API — Business-plan data widgets can flip leader bibs and drive the progress bar live as splits post. Volunteers can otherwise update rows from a phone.
How do I adapt the board for a 10k or half marathon?
Retitle the progress widget from mile 20 to your lead checkpoint and adjust its percentage as the race unfolds. Swap the Boston weather coordinates for your course, and rewrite the finish ticker with your own water stops and medical locations.
What screens work at an outdoor cheer station?
Anything with a browser and power: a TV under a tent, a battery-fed portable monitor with a streaming stick, or a laptop driving a big screen. No signage player is needed — the board is a URL that keeps flipping all race.
Can I simplify the layout for a small expo monitor?
Yes. Rows and columns are editable after forking — drop the weather row for a tighter four-row layout, or shrink the 36-column grid so flaps grow larger. The progress bar's width setting can be narrowed to match.
