OPEN SOURCE RELEASE BOARD

A live GitHub repo board that flips stars, forks, and open-issue counts plus the latest release tag for facebook/react, each fed by the public GitHub API. Engineering teams put it on the office TV to watch a release land or a star milestone tick past. Swap two URLs to track your own repository instead.

QUESTIONS
How do I track my own repo instead of React?

Edit the four data widgets: point the stars, forks, and issues widgets at api.github.com/repos/you/yourrepo and the release widget at its /releases/latest endpoint. The JSONPaths — $.stargazers_count and friends — stay the same for any public repository.

How fresh are the numbers on the board?

Each data widget reads its GitHub endpoint and the flaps roll to new values in under a second once fresh JSON arrives. Star counts, fork counts, and the release tag update without anyone refreshing the screen.

Is the GitHub integration included in every plan?

Live JSON/API widgets are a Business-plan feature. On lower plans the board displays its editable placeholder values — like the 244,836 stars in the template — so you can build and style the layout before upgrading for live numbers.

What runs the board in our engineering area?

Any browser on a screen: the office smart TV, a Chromecast or Fire TV stick, or a spare monitor by the team's desks. Setup is opening a URL — no signage player, no code, and the flip animation renders at 60 FPS.
